Launching
A battle is started with the judge calling "3-2-1 Go Shoot!" or "3-2-1 Let it Rip!" and begins when both Beyblades have made contact with the Battle Zone of the stadium at least once. If a Beyblade is launched directly into an Over/Xtreme Zone instead, it is considered to be an Own Finish and will only lose 1 point instead of the usual 2 or 3. Both players must simultaneously launch their Beyblades as the word "shoot" or "rip" is called.
-
Beyblades must be launched inside the stadium play area.
-
Players must keep their launcher held within their half of the stadium. Never attempt to obstruct an opponent’s launch.
-
Players cannot shoot their Beyblade onto the opponent's Beyblade mid-air.
-
Players must keep their Beyblade within 20cm of the stadium floor/ play area for the duration of their launch.
-
Do not touch the stadium at any time. If players think the stadium should be adjusted, ask a judge.
-
If a winder-based launcher is being used, a legal launch consists of the winder being pulled out of the launcher, rather than pushed in.
Relaunching
If a players launch is obstructed or noticeably underpowered due to an event beyond the players control or contact is made in mid-air, players can request a relaunch, which will immediately void and end the current battle.
The primary reasons to request a relaunch are:
-
Players launcher malfunctions in a way that causes the launch to be underpowered
-
Player is accidentally hit or shoved by the opposing player or a spectator
-
Contact was made before both Beyblades touched the stadium floor once
Players are entitled to a single relaunch per battle, though judges may freely invoke relaunches for players outside of their allocation if they have a valid concern.
Players must request a relaunch during the countdown or immediately afterwards. The judge may deny the request if they determine that you were at fault or requested too late.
Modifications
-
Foreign Substances: Beyblade and launcher parts cannot be altered or decorated in any way that affects their performance. Players who intentionally modify the performance illegally of their equipment will be disqualified and potentially banned from future Events.
-
Physical Modification: Unless explicitly stated otherwise by another rule, Beyblade and launcher parts can only be physically modified through:
-
Battle with other Beyblades of the same series.
-
Launching a Beyblade into a Beyblade stadium.
-
Assembling a Beyblade or launcher with parts that fit and are intended to be used together based on the part composition of the series in question.
-
Minor physical modifications caused by other means (such as accidentally dropping a Beyblade onto the floor) may be permitted with judge approval. Please ask a judge if you are unsure if your part is legal.
-
Broken Parts: Beyblade parts that are broken in any way are considered illegal and may not be used in events unless otherwise explicitly specified in this rulebook.
-
Sticker Placement: Stickers cannot be placed anywhere where two parts of the Beyblade come into contact with each other. You must respect the legal sticker positioning as outlined by the instructions included in each product.
Playing Surface Stadium Cracks: Cracks within the playing surface of Stadiums are not acceptable and Stadiums with such damage are illegal for BBN play.
-
Outer Wall Stadium Cracks: Cracks on the walls or outside of the play area are acceptable if they are repaired with tape attached to the underside of the Stadium.
-
Unofficial Paint/Clear-coating on Blades: Painting or clear-coating your Blades for aesthetic reasons is permitted. The coat must be light, non-textured and not affect the Beyblade’s performance. A coat also cannot be added in places where the Blade connects to other parts of the Beyblade (Ratchet, etc.). If the Judge determines your Blade does not meet these standards, you will be obligated to switch out the Blade for another version of the same Blade. If you cannot, you will be given a match loss.
-
Unofficial/Homemade Stickers on Blades: Decorating your Blades with unofficial/homemade stickers is permitted. These stickers must not affect the Beyblade’s performance and must adhere to a Blade’s legal sticker positioning. (Blades with no specific positioning instructions may have a sticker placed on top of the clear piece of plastic that protects the Gear Chip.) Any imagery or verbiage on these stickers must not be offensive. If the Judge determines your Blade does not meet these standards, you will be obligated to switch out the Blade for another version of the same Blade. If you cannot, you will be given a match loss.
-
Marking Parts: Parts may be marked in order to differentiate parts from your opponent’s in the event of a double Burst Finish, or to maintain the orientation of your combination’s parts should it burst and need to be re-assembled. You may apply minor markings (single lines or dots) to them with a pen or marker in the following places:
-
On a Blade: Anywhere besides the Blade’s contact points, or where the Ratchet makes contact with the Blade’s underside.
-
On a Ratchet: Anywhere on the Ratchet Base (the bottom part of the Ratchet) besides where the Bit makes contact with it.
-
On a Bit: The top surface and inside of the Bit’s Shaft.
-
-
Painting or Decorating Launchers/Grips/Accessories: Launchers, Grips, and Accessories may be painted or decorated for aesthetic purposes only. Any paint or decoration added must not affect the performance or originally intended functions or gimmicks of the part and should not obstruct your opponent’s ability to launch properly in any way. If a judge determines your launcher, grip, or accessory has been modified to the point of illegality due to such modifications, they may tell you to switch to another version of that same part.
-
Swapping Launcher Components: Components of a launcher that have been worn down over use may be replaced with an identical substitute from another launcher.
-
Swapping Part Components/Disassembling Parts: If a Part can be disassembled via non-destructive means, components of that Part may be replaced with an identical substitute from another Part.
Broken BeyLauncher Handle: BeyLaunchers may be used with broken handles.

Tournament Formats
-
Swiss Format: This will be a Swiss Format tournament. That means players will play a minimum of 4 or 5 matches in the first stage. A predetermined number of players will will taken from the top cut to compete in the finals (if there is a final stage). Depending on event size and time constraints an organizer may declare winners from Swiss standings.
-
Single Elimination Format: This will be a Single Elimination Format. That means players will play a minimum of one match. If a player loses, they're eliminated from the tournament.
-
Double Elimination Format: This will be a Double Elimination Format tournament. That means players will play a minimum of 2 matches in the first stage. Once players have accumulated two losses total, they will be eliminated from the tournament. If players have only one loss, they are still in.
-
Round Robin Format: This will be a Round Robin Format tournament. That means that every player plays against every other player once before the finalists are determined. All round robin matches should be played to 4 points including finals and tie breakers when playing Beyblade X. An organizer may decide to select the winners from initial standings in the round robin, depending on number of participants.
-
Group Round Robin: This will be a Group Round Robin Format tournament. That means that every player plays against every other player in their group once before the finalists are determined. All round robin matches should be played to 4 points including finals and tie breakers when playing Beyblade X.

Only in exceptional circumstances can this be altered i.e. the venue must close unexpectedly and there is not enough time to complete a final stage. If the this is the case an announcement must be made as soon as possible.
If a player leaves an event early and before the estimated time period is over, all round robin matches including matches played will be considered a loss.
